I haven't hopped onto this leg of the forum for a while. Is the Sigma no longer in production, or is Bass just not going to carry them?

They combined the SD with the Sigma and it is going under the SD model. The old SD models and the old Sigma models have been discontinued in favor of this new merged model.

Now, do we know for certain the Sigma is discontinued? I still see it on the S&W website.

$329 isn't much of a clearance price.

They had sales where they were $250. This is not much of a clearance if it isn't better than previous sales.

x2 My LGS has them for $300 all day everyday.
They also have the SD40VE for $330 and the SD9VE for $590.
I'm not sure if thats a typo on the website for the SD9VE I can't see it being twice as much as the 40.

I paid 349.00 a few months ago. 20.00 drop isnt significant enough for me to buy another one.

I don't see any element of the Sigma in the SD VE, save for the designation "VE". The two pistols are different in frame, slide and trigger.
The SD VE is a slightly cheaper version of the original SD. Cheaper by the elimination of Melonite/Black finish on the slide and elimination of night sights.

Don't forget it's BP, they got to mark it up to allow for the sale price.

Bought mine in December for $275. That was on sale from $295. If $329 is clearance, Bass Pro Shop is just too high.

Looks like I was off the map on a good price for a Sigma. Under $300 for a qualitiy reliable firearm that has a lifetime warranty from Smith and Wesson? Good Lord!

The trigger on the VE models is far, far better than the heavy sigma. My only gripe is that the trigger distance from the web of the thumb lends itself to small hands. A bit gritty, but smooths out in time. My hands are large. GREAT feeling gun, otherwise.

Well I just bought mine off of Gunsamerica for $299. There are a lot of guns I like but I wanted another Sigma just to keep in the drawer. This will be my 4th Sigma and I love the way they feel. I had a Kimber I paid $1200 for and didn't like it as much as I do the Sigma. This is my first Sigma 40 though.

Sigma's are back to $279 at both my local gun shops, they had been right at $300 for most of the summer til now. The SDVE's are $299.

I paid a bit more than that myself but I gotta say that ye ole Sigma is a real surprise in my book. I used to give this one buddy with a 40S&W Sigma the hardest time about his. Now I'm eating crow. Trigger isn't all together too bad, compared to a P-64 double action or AMT Backup or such. And it hits what I point at, which a pretty big deal when it comes to this type of machine. If mags were interchangeable with 5906, I'd be in heaven...
I take back the 400 zillion times I called it a "Smegma"...
