Today I decided to take my now 1 month and 2 day old Shield 40 caliber and do some practice rounds and also took along it's bigger but not biggest brother an M&P40 compact (the full size is getting a trigger job and TFO sights installed).
I have the Storm Lake 357SIG barrel for the 40 compact so I took 50 of 150 rounds of Speer 125 grain Lawman TMJ as well as WWB 180 grain FMJ.
I first took my little Shield and gave it about 20 rounds and of those hit the red bullseye six times and the rest were very close but a little left but at the correct elevation about 30% bulls-eyes so not bad with a new weapon.
I then used the other 30 rounds in the 40 compact which is my everyday carry hitting the bulls-eye 4 times but then put all head shots in the head as desired.
I next took my Storm Lake 357SIG barrel out of it's box and installed it into my 40 compact, and then loaded my ten rounder with full cap and also my 15 rounders with full cap...
man what a great caliber the 357SIG is first second and third shot right into the bulls-eye ended to session with most of the bulls-eye gone and yes some more left of centers but at correct elevation.
I love my little shield and now carry it as a BUG or sometimes as a primary for little errands, but I really love my Storm Lake 357SIG barrel in my 40 compact. Today was a great Father's day for me and I wish the same for all the other fathers on this forum as well!
