I found this36 no dash at a LGS at lunch.
S/N indicates from 1971-72. (I think that is right) SN 50J2xx
3" round butt
It's looks 99% easily. . I'm not sure it was ever fired. No blueing blemishes at all. SN on cylinder face, butt ansd stocks match.
No S/N on barrel but according to SCSW there wouldn't be.
He is asking $480. I am not very familiar with what Model 36 go for. Is this in the ball park?

Price is to high. Sometime back I could of bought a 99% 36 no dash with a 3 inch for $400. I offered $375. Salesman said no. End of story.

Bit of a weird bird in that its a 3" taper barrel with a round butt,
Its more common to find them with a square butt and I think by the time your gun was made they
were probably shifting towards the 3" SB Heavy barrel 36-1 version.
If you specifically want a RB taper barrel 3" you wont find another LNIB ,
On the other hand it is probably a bit harder to sell and may be good bargaining points,
I would point out that if it was a 2" or a SB maybe a $400 to $450 gun
but rb taper barrel...hmmm....$350

My thoughts were, from a collection standpoint, it seems to be a rare (uncommon) bird. Not many 3" RB made. Even fewer 3"RB tapered barrels. I don't know of any with the tapered barrel.
I will try to buy it for that reason (Uncommon variation) I'm not as much interested in shootabilty...I have plenty of guns to shoot..
