Default Finally a 58

Stopped in a local gun shop today and there it was. Now it is home. The mark over the logo is a shadow in the first pic. Just the gun, no box or tools.

That's a nice one. Congrats.

I just picked up a blued 58. My FFL guy was really impressed with how well the 58 was balanced.

I'd have to say the Mod.58 is probably more popular and sought after now than in it's heyday. Thanks in no small part to this forum no doubt.

Wetdog, that is really nice. I have a nickel M58 serial number N1530XX, shipped in 1973. How close is mine to yours?

No question they are more popular now. When they were in production S&W couldn't hardly give them away.

While that is real nice, I think it would look even nicer with a set of Grashorn's stag stocks on it.

JCS&W, serial # is N272XXX approx. 1977. Don't have a shipping date yet. Seems it may be close to the end of production.
Gary, I'll have to check out the unofficial 58 club.
ETA- Shipped 7/1979
