Default The wife's a little mad at me - again

OK, this is my 2nd anniversary of retiring. Exactly 2 years ago I left work, mostly, for the good life. But it just occurred to me that I haven't had a day off in that 2 full years. Every darn day I get up and hit the same routine. Of course me getting up occurred a little later than usual today, it was after 9:00. Not a big deal, me bein' a little late for my donut and handful of pills. I'm not sure what I'd do with a day off, but I don't seem to remember one.

I did go out to lunch today. Saw a drug deal go down. I like to go sit on the riverbank and watch the duck and geese land. Some little sweetheart with what looked like painted on exercise clothes was just hangin' out. I was busy with my chicken and drink, but also watching the goings on around me. Then a guy with a big Escalade pulled up and a passenger got out. He walked up and down the shady area, asking each if they'd called him. Then the little skinny chick walked over and sat down right next to the guy, like really close as in up against him. She slipped him something, I guess rolled up money. he gave her something and walked back to the Escalade. She walked around for a minute, then went back to the car she came in and off they went. This was right across the river from the Cincinnati Reds stadium and a ball game going on! Guess I need to spend more time watching the drug activity. Could be dangerous.

So, why's the wife a little mad at you again? Doesn't like you sleepin' in?

Maybe you should just go to the BallGame. Get a hotdog.

For whatever reason, wives can't take that. The thing that irritates her more than anything is me rubbing it in.

Not sure how she'd know either way. I've considered getting up with her and being in her way until she leaves. Then going back to bed of course.

The little wife wakes me up at 7:00 every morning. Her theory is I shouldn't be retired yet, and disability dosen't count. Aren't they precious?

If you get up early and work at something all day you are not retired, you just changed jobs. Larry

I got up at 7 this morning with not much to do and I guess I'll not get it all done today. Blast, I hate leaving things undone till the next day!

If my wife is awake, she figures I should be too. But let me make a noise when she's sleeping or taking one of her 4 hour naps and I'm in trouble. I need to own a shop just so I have a place to be loud.

Was going to post what I thought was a funny response but don't want to get into trouble. Maybe after I have been here a little longer.

I'm eligible to retire in two years and my wife is always asking what I wiil do if I do decide to. She is always saying something about me not taking off for vacation or comp. days. But the way I see it is why would I take off to just stay at home. She likes to stay at home....yuck. Before we married, I had 2-3 jobs going at anyone time.

"The wife's a little mad at me - again "

Which begs the question
"So what???"

If the wife ain't mad at you-it just means you're not trying hard enough.

Retirement, it was the best thing I have ever done.

IF, I knew it was going to be THIS GOOD, I would have got me a good corner, right out of High School, and NEVER worked a day after Graduation.
