Default Looking Into Concealed Carry Weapon

I am looking at both the Shield and the Walther PPS. I like the feel of both weapons and would appreciate any comments on both.

I have two Shields, both 9mm, both excellent shooters, and very easy to carry. I've held a PPS in my local shop, I don't care much for the magazine release, or the Glock-like safety lever in the trigger. The trigger on the PPS wasn't as nice as on my Shields, and it didn't point as naturally for me as the Shield does. Just my opinion, but if I had it to do again, I'd do it the same way...I like the Shield.

You can't go wrong with the Walther PPS unless you don't like the mag release. I love mine, but if I had to choose between the two, I would get a Shield. It's less expensive, you have S&W CS behind you and if it's as good as my M&P compact, well, enough said. I'm not going to sell my PPS, but I will get a Shield when I can find one. Don't need it, but I will have it.

I think it's a push. I agree with Patbelly. I too own a PPS but will buy a Shield if/when I find a I-can't-walk-away-from-this-deal deal. But I am keeping, and carrying the PPS when wardrobe choice supports carrying it. With this heat wave we're having wardrobe needs make it hard to hide even a J-Frame, so the PPS cools her heels until it cools off a little.

I think they're both good guns, but the PPS is friendlier to this southpaw.

Thank you for all of the input. Still a hard decision.

Give me either and I am happy. But, I am a man of broad gun tastes...

I finally got to compare the Shield and the PPS side by side yesterday. I was more impressed with the feel and quality of the PPS. Price was a discriminator but the PPS won out. I purchased the PPS 9 mm. Looking forward to range time with the weapon.

Congrats on your decision. You will probably love the PPS. I think I'll give mine a workout today.

Good luck to you with the PPS!

I'm not a fan of the PPS, the feel of it's grip or the Euro mag release... but I recognize that others might feel differently about it. I carry a Shield and, to be honest, I wouldn't trade it for anything at present. Enjoy your new PPS!

I have both types of these weapons and both are excellent, my Shield is in 40 S&W and the PPS is in 9MM. They both make for outstanding carry weapons. The Shield I carry outside the waist band and the PPS I carry inside. I don't think you could go wrong with either weapon
