IN MY AREA AROUND ATL.,GA. HAVE SEEN IN LARGE GUN SHOP LOCAL TO ME FOR 2.99 AND UP.

I wouldn't even consider it at that price... the early I-frames are going up in price quickly, but a 65% gun even with original grips is more like a $200-250 gun, tops IMHO. (BTW, is it nickel? With that amount of finish loss, that would be a big negative to me.) Location makes a difference, and of course if there are any special features, they enter into the equation, but as described, it sounds like your LGS has a very inflated view of its value. JMHO, YMMV, of course!

Concur. For $300, a prewar .32 HE ought to show at least 90% original finish remaining.

Yeah. Green Frog is dead on. Here in the northwest Sunshine State, 200 to 250 would be the very best it would bring, possibly even a little less. Be sure to check the bore. Some of those early .32s have fallen victim to corrosive primers. I came across a MINT looking .32 HE a while back, but the bore looked like a brick chimney. Heartbreaking.
