Default Engraved 5-screw K38 by Russ Wood?

Was in a wood case with a medallion saying built for Dr Slater by Russ Wood. There was a first name for the doc, but I don't remember it. The engraving was 100%a coverage and gold filled. Anyone ever hear of anything like it? Serial on the crane was 88633.

Thanks

Aaron

Dr. Slater probably contracted with Mr. Wood to engrave and inlay the K-38. Russ Wood was not an engraver employed by S&W.

I have examined that gun. The best things about it in my opinion are the case that was made for it and the grips. It is clearly not factory engraved and I do not believe that the engraving is of high quality,IMHO!
It was a nice 5 screw K-38.

Tom my sentiments exactly. A waste of a nice K38, imo. I will be driving through there again tomorrow, I may try to get a pic. Did you see the butchered 29-4 as well?
