Fiber optic color choice
My red fiber optic fell out of my P2000...Marc at Gemini is sending me some replacement tubes...red and green...I think I'm gonna try green this time but for you guys who use fiber optic sights, what preference do you guys have color wise?

I prefer gold. It is bright enough to make it easy to find but not so bright as to make you use the FO to aim with instead of the top of the front sight.

I just installed a .250" Hi-Viz GREEN fiber optic frt sight on my 627 five inch PC gun. A FAR better field sight than the huge gold bead it came with.
I have tried the red ones a few times, I like the green the best.
Then again I like rubenesque redheads too...You may like skinny blondes? So YMMV.

I prefer green...red is one of the first colors to disappear in low light.

Of the two, red for me. Green is too bright.
Best color is orange though...

Green is like a magnet for my eyes! No question as to where the front sight is at all......your eyes may have a different preference.

If the FO is too bright, you can blacken the top with a sharpie to limit the light absorption.

With my eyes, I was thinking of dousing it in gasoline and lighting it before shooting.

BTW...found a video on youtube from Dawson Precision on how to install a new fiber optic....super easy...gotta love the interweb!
Fiber Optic Replacement - YouTube
found another video where the guy heated one end of the tube off the gun...then slid it in, cut the front of, and heated that end...guess either way should work fine....

I think the optimal is supposed to be Red in back and Green in front... I might have it backwards...held a Browning 22 once that comes that way, and it was something else....perfect.
The eye picks it up GREAT.

I run the standard black front with a Millet rear on my 625 and can't say that I really ever needed a FO.

The black FO is great in bright sunshine. Keeps me from having to wear sunglasses.

I don't have a FO sight or any front sight at all.
I just point in the general direction and hope for the best.

Sip ,, for someone with 5761 posts I would think you would have
gotten this thing all worked out long ago.
Green for predominantly low light conditions
and Red for brighter situations.

Sip ... Remember "Red light -- Green light"? Red = stop, Green = go. The fiber optic to use is dependent upon who you are aiming at.

It depends on the background. You don't wanna use green sights in the woods for example...
The rest is your personal choice.
