Default S&W 610 5" FLUTED CYL. 10MM NO DASH

I HAVE A 610 NO DASH 1990 5" FLUTED CYL REVOLVER ORIGINAL WOOD GRIPS AND ALL ACCESS. IT CAME WITH INCLUDING THE BOX.

CALLED S&W.. THEY SAID IT ROLLED OUT THE FACTORY IN APRIL OF 1990...AND IT WAS A FIRST OFFERING 5'" FLUTED VERSION
PERSON I BOUGHT IT FROM SAYS OR SAID IT WAS INFIRED BY I CAN'T BE SURE.

WHAT MIGHT IT BE WORTH.. I HAVE BEEN OFFERED 1000 TO 1500.00 FOR IT SO FAR...
HOW DESIRABLE ARE THESE..?

Firstoff, why all caps?

$1500 is much more than it's worth, if you can get $1500, take it and run.

I see them here between $800-1000, with 1000 being the high end with box, and all that jazz.

thnk. nipster, why everbody gets so upset with caps i never understood,

i think its easier to read.. no offense though.. if the caps is left on and im half why through typing, I just keep going.

I checked gun broker and they are selling from about 1000.00 to 1400

thanks... i think ill hang on to it... read an articl from bren Ten

and it's one of the most desirable sought after of those models besides the 3" lew Horton model of that era.

I bought mine new when they came out and wouldn't sell it for $1400.00. It is one of my favorite guns and shoots full power 10mm loads like they where nothing.

Keep the 610.

You have a good shooting, highly desirable package that will take either the expensive, hot hard to find 10mm ammo or the inexpensive readily available 40 S&W interchangeably.

Almost everyone who has sold one regrets letting their 610 go.

As for the all caps. E-mail etiquette says that all caps is equal to SHOUTING!!! at the person with whom you are conversing. The same standards apply here as the S&W Forum is one of, if not the most civil forums on the net.

YEAH, BUT i'M DARNED NEAR DEAF AND NEED PEOPLE TO SHOUT AT ME!! Yean, I'm another who doesn't understand the no caps thing. Look at almost any Engineering workstation and you'll find the caps lock is on, because printing in all caps on engineering drawings has been standard practice since before WWII.

BTW, also a 610 owner, in my case it's a 6 1/2 inch 610-3 and I wish I had purchased 3 of the 4 inchers when they were available. Because the profit I could have made on just two 4 inch 610's would have paid for the purchase of the third. What I am saying is that your 5 inch no dash is really worth at least 1200 dollars if it's in nearly new condition. Load it up with 40 caliber and you'll have one of the cheapest centerfire revolvers to shoot on the planet.

I also bought mine when they first came out. I had Ron Power shorten it from 5" to 4" when he did his Power Custom Combat work on it around 1992 or 1993.

Mine is a great shooter. I carried it for years as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff, and later as a small town Police Chief in a Tex Shoemaker Semi Breakfront Security Holster. I carried 4 reloads in a custom made Black Basketweave Quad Moonclip Carrier. I never felt under gunned. I finally caved in just before I retired and got an XDm. I got the auto because Weapon Qualifications ended up being designed around Hi Cap bottom feeders. It was starting to be hard to make the times when you were doing 1 or 2 extra reloads the semi auto's were not making. I never failed to Qualify, but the times were starting to get pretty close.

Hmmmm , I may have one of those layin' around here somewhere.

The 610 is a unique and extremely strong platform for a magnum level
autoloading cartridge.

It seems that nc23guns already knows this and was just checking ,,,,

Good luck
