forgot, the gun has 4 screws.
Your Combat Magnum, Model 19, dates to 1959. However, the 6-inch version did not become available until 1963 (around K550000), so it is likely your revolver has had the original barrel replaced (it was originally a 4-inch).
19618 is the assembly number and was put there during the manufacturing process to ensure prefitted parts were kept together. Are there any diamonds stamped on the revolver (i.e. on the grip frame or in the ejector rod shroud)?
I think you mean Mod 19 no sufix as in a 'pre dash #' gun.
Enjoy that inheritance and I hope you like shooting it. You've got 357 potential power and the comfort of shootong 38 Spl as well.
Appreciate comeback. could find no diamond stamp.grip frame has larger 3 front part l/s and 0 near rear l/s.ejector shroud has 0 with small 1 and 6 or 9 stamped in it. thanks again Flipper28138
