I ran into a model 28 4 screw, at a local shop, and put it on layaway. 28 no dash S20436x 4 screw lots of carry wear on cylinder, and barrel. 4 inch, pachmayr grips, no extras. I see that SCSW has S194500-S206999 at 1959-1960. Anyone have anything close with a manufacturing date? I wanted a 04/1959 as that would be a birth month, but any 1959 would be great. No pictures yet but I will have after it is home. Mechanics seem fine, but due to the wear $299 plus tax.

Jan. - Feb. 1961 by looking at my list. But it's just a guess. Could be late 1960. I don't see how the book says 1959. The serials I absolutely know the dates on in the S196000 - S210000 range are late 1960 and early 1961.

It was a good deal even if it's not the right date for you.

Paid it off, and picked it up. It's in better condition than I remembered from my initial inspection. Wear on both sides of the barrel from muzzle back a little more than an inch, wear on barrel underlug, bottom of frame below crane, and front edge of cylinder flutes, red paint on ramp. Matching serial on frame, cylinder, and extractor, not bad at all, and should be a great shooter even if it is not a 1959. Here are some pics.

That would be a good buy at $450!
