Default M&P22 RANGE DAY

Well, another range day with the M&P22. Went thru 750 rounds of blue box federal bulk. That puts me at 2850 rds. The first box went great with only 2 failure to eject. The second box was a different story, almost every other rd would not eject, wasn't pushing the slide back strong enough to eject. Had to stop, was trying for a 1000rd day. Is it possible to get a bad batch of ammo. The first box was a box that I had already and the second box was a new purchase. I think I'm gonna try the blazer bulk ammo next. Checked the ejector by putting in a full mag and racking the slide by hand, all came out fine. Any thoughts.
Still love the gun, just a little bump in the road.

Yeah, this happens. Bulk .22 ammo is very inconsistent, even the name brands. I think the it's all made in Mexico using whatever they have on hand. I have noticed a distinct difference in smoke smell when switching from one brick to another, same brand purchased at the same time.

CCI Mini-Mag 40gr copper-plated RN 1235 FPS

I shoot this stuff almost exclusively. Never had a problem with it. Costs a little more but the frustration level is zero, so it's worth it in my opinion. It is often on sale for around $5.60 per 100 in my neck of the woods.

I use the same in my 22 and haven't any issues with the ammo, and found Wal-Mart the cheapest in town.

Well, had another range day today. This time the M&P preformed flawlessly. Tried different ammo, (Bulk Blazers 525 rds) . Went thru a whole box, not a single FTE OR FTF. I then got what was left of the previous box of ammo that I was having trouble with last time. And this time no problems, shot every one. So I assume that the problems that I had was due to a dirty gun. I took everyones advise last time and cleaned the gun thoroughly and oiled it just as I was told. I guess that my gun can be considered broken in now. Round count now about 3500.
This one is a keeper. Jesse.

Try using gunzilla clp no need to oil it's a dry lube, wont hold the dirt best gun cleaner I have ever used. Turns carbon fouling to sludge. Non toxic and no smell!

I have had spotty luck as well with my M&P22 when it comes to bulk ammo. First I tried the Federal bulk from Wally world and had so many misfires and malfunctions that I didn't even bother anymore. The remainder of that ammo has been set aside for my lever action rifle.

Then tried a box of Blazer...and the ratio of malfunctions compared to the gun running without a hitch went waaaaay down. THEN...on my second box of Blazer I was hit with inconsistencies out the wazoo. So in my limited experience and as many of you probably already know...bulk ammo is hit or miss at best.

With that said, CCI Mini-Mags are flawless but I wanted to try something different...so I picked up some CCI standard velocity. Talk about a night and day difference! The Mini-Mags are pretty hot...but the standard velocity was almost like shooting a BB gun in comparison...but they functioned with every shot.

After several rounds through my M&P.22 it will have some FTE's now and then. A good cleaning always fixes the problem.
