The worst tasting liquor I've tasted!
I ain't really a liquor kind of person. I will drink a little whiskey now and then but I really prefer just plain old beer. The other day my Son brought home a bottle of booze that a friend at work gave him. It was called, Sweet Tea flavored Vodka. It was made by Seagrams. I tried it chilled as well as ice cold and no matter what it was absolutely awful tasting. Kind of like taking a drink of whiskey and accidentally swallowing your chew.
Any of ya'll ever tried it? If you haven't, don't bother. I would have to be really hard up to drink stuff that tastes that bad.
OK, I'm done crying about free liquor.
Peace,
gordon

Seagrams makes industrial liquor; their mixers are trash, too.

Cognac. Without a doubt. Or that licorice flavored garbage.

I tend to shy away from all kinds of gimmick drinks. When I do try them, I always regret it. But none of them comes close to lechugilla, moonshine tequila from Batopilas, made from the plant bearing the same name.
My stepdaughter dubbed it "dirt on fire". The first sip is bad; every succeeding taste is worse. After drinking it, even good booze tastes bad.

I tried something called Sweet Lucy once, thought it was bourbon. I tasted like cough syrup, yech.

I would drink 15 double shots to one beer normally when i was younger. At my brothers wedding I was drinking segrams 7 on the rocks. The bartender found out the groom was my brother and he gave me 8oz water glasses full of segrams 7 on the rocks. My two other brothers were drinking wisky sours and i called them babies. So they lined up the segrams 7 glasses on the table and away i went. My mom told me the next day i drank over a quart and possibly two quarts of segrams 7 lastnight. I was sink for 3 days. I haven't had a drop ever since. Plus the meds i'm on i can't drink anything now.
My uncle was in the national guard and every year they would do a trip to mexico. He would bring back the mexican tequila the real stuff with the worm in the bottle. We broke open a bottle of that stuff straight while playing cards on christmas even and your hands would go numb.

Have you guys tried moonshine? Sure you have. In Guam? Probably not. Worse thing that I ever tried to actually drink.

The absolute worst whiskey I've ever tasted was Jack Daniels. I just as soon eat a charcoal briquette with a castor oil chaser. YMMV

I don't know why I bought it, but there is about half a quart bottle of Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum in my cabinet. I feel almost obliged to drink it, but it is some awful tasting stuff. I think I saw a tv ad, then saw a big display in the likker store the next day. Should have known better.

Worst liquor I've ever had was Malibu flavored rum. This was pineapple flavored. First drink was unbelievably bad. Later i thought no drink could be that bad so tried it again; the second was even worse than I remembered it. I poured it out.
Worst wine I had was some Kokopelli wine I bought at Willcox, AZ. We had been commuting to Phoenix when my wife had knee replacement surgery there. I took it over to a friend and we tried it. From the look on his face, his glass was as bad as mine. It went down the toilet.

I had a friend stationed at Ft. Benning who had some local connections. Upon receiving my blessing, I got a bottle of 'shine from him and took it to my monthly Friday Night poker game. We put it in the freezer and drank in straight, as best we could. If you never tried this stuff, you can only marvel at how something so cold can burn so much. In very small amounts, it was fine.

My nephew, Charlie Sherrill's son, bought a bottle of Everclear 190 proof. He mentioned on his facebook page and I told him that he was a wimp if he did not drink a straight shot of it. I did not know that facebook allowed that kind of profanity!

You probably didn't have the meal laden with garlic, feta and spinach to let the strong licorice flavor mix with first.

Absinthe anyone? Made van Gough cut his own ear off. My introduction to it was in the red light district in Amsterdam but later I found out that it was in fact diesel fuel. Realized it when I bought a bottle for myself and it tasted/appeared very different from what I had been served.
I finished drinking many years ago now...

Tequila with the worm is Mezcal, not tequila. Good mezcal is excellent. Earthy, like scotch.
The worst liquor is Sotol. Another moonshine from Mexico. We tried to sell it for 3 bucks a liter. No takers. Couldn't give it away, even to the employees.

I'm going to have to enter a dissenting vote here. I'm neautral on the basic licorice flavor, but high-quality ouzo is a good drink and fueled many a fun-filled evening when I lived in Greece.
On the other hand, cheap ouzo can be as awful as any drink anywhere. When you get a shot or two of that into your system, you know that you have stumbled into an establishment whose basic business message is GET DRUNK HERE CHEAP NOW. Sometimes you can get a preview of the coming hangover even before you feel the intoxication.
Maybe I killed my taste buds over there. I also like retsina, the wine that everybody says tastes like turpentine. Five star is a little too refined, but the three star stuff is great. Goes well with oily goat stew.
Brandy and most liqueurs will come back up even faster than they went down. I would make a terrible aristocrat, because cognac tastes to me like something you would give a heretic to tune him up before you sent him down to the dungeon for his interview with Torquemada.

I am so glad this wasn't me...
My stepdad, a Korean war era Marine told me the sickest he'd ever been was on saki. And he said it was pretty gross.
Stolen saki, mind you, that they stored in an empty fuel drum.
Myself...I can't recall the worst thing I ever drank. I do recall what was the most disgusting to be sick from. For a long time I thought it was Jack Daniels. However, Goldschlager plus Jumbo Jack and Monster Tacos trumps that easily.

Absinthe is great.
Chartreuse anyone?
Goldshalger?
Just don't drink the whole bottle. A couple drinks is O.K.

Is that the stuff that stays in your system? The story I remember is that when you drink a glass of water the next morning you are instantly rat-arsed again.
Worse tasting liquor IMHO is gin. They don't call it mothers' ruin for nothing.

Fernet is pretty rough; so are some of the sweeter college-style things like Firewater, Sloe Gin, etc. There is some mint/menthe liquor that showed up in various cocktails over the years that still gives me "pause" but the name escapes me at the moment.

at a friends party last year. Don't know what the fuss is about.
Yuck... I'll stick to my beer thank you.

The worst tasting liquor that I've ever tasted was going the wrong way.
Back in my younger college days, I drank too much on occasion. I'd throw up and whatever it was tasted horrible, mixed with whatever stomach contents. Gross! Terrible after-taste.

Ratzeputz
Visiting distant relatives of my then wife, in Celle, Germany, they offered me a glass of the local distilled liquor that they were very proud of (or they were pulling a fast one on this American soldier ). It's called "Ratzeputz". It tasted like fermented ginger root and it's downright nasty and burns horribly (116 proof). I drank it in one shot and smiled (didn't want them thinking I wasn't man enough, and I wanted to be polite). They poured me two more shots, which I regretably, but politely, accepted, but after that I said that I didn't want to drink too much and become silly. I had a churning upset stomach for two days after that.
They decided that I must like it, so for several years in a row they sent me a small bottle of it for Christmas. I used this "gift" to initiate new soldiers to my platoon by having them join me in a toast - priceless reactions ensued.

Being Norwegian born it's taken for granted that we drink Aquavit on special occasions several times a year to perhaps retain our unique "Squareheadedness".......I became an American in no small part so I wouldn't have to taste it's spiced bilge water quality ever again.

I really don't like any colored whiskey, but I've had some foul red wine more than once. I think it will rid your yard of fire ants, and kill your grass, too. If you pour me a shot of apple schnapps, I will shoot you. Don't ask why.
LennyLames, there's a reason it's called "vomit".

Southern comfort gets my vote. I got sick on that as a kid and never felt like drinking it again. Course, if you drink too much of any of these you'll be chasing parked cars!

My parents were into "after dinner liqueurs" They had this bottle with several separate sections (actually I have it now)
When they passed and we cleaned out the house I pulled bottles and bottles of this stuff that some must have been 30 years old, I think it would strip paint, Should have saved the bottles as many were very unique.
Some of the most vial tasting things came out of there
Tequila I can not even smell and used to be able to pound away a lot of anything

I cant believe nobody has mentioned a scotch called Laphraig {possible speeling incorrect??}...I have drank or tried all of the above posted so far and can actually stand everything to a degree. I dont make a habit drinking most of it however. But Laphraig....absolutely taste like rotten liquid burnt coal. And that aint all, it is so strong that...one teaspoon added to any other drink will completely kill it as well. Why would anyone not only put burnt coal flavor in scotch, but put so much, so strong that any reasonable alcoholic cannot possibly drink the stuff???

Worst Liquor
The Worst tasting liquor that I ever tasted was...... 'All Of It'.
I drank a lot when I was in the Air Force because of peer pressure. It seemed to be a right of passage like hazing in college. Everybody seemed to want to brag about how drunk they got the night before.
My first taste of whisky was when I was 17 years old and I didn't like it then, and I don't like it now at age 71. I'm not too fond of beer either. I just never saw the point & still don't. I realize that lots of people think I am 'odd' because of that, but it has never influenced me to indulge. I don't know if I'm in the minority in this respect, but I seem to be on this forum. I still like to read the post here and pass no judgment on anyone who disagrees with my views.
I think that this is one of the most civil and informative sites on the web. I seldom post, but read it often. Lee has set the parameters so that this site is very civil and very informative. I LOVE THIS SITE!!!

In College (and before) we drank ALL of It. Sort of a Wapatoolie punch only we dumped any and all types of booze and cut it with enough fruit drinks to kill the toxic taste.
My we got sick later

Italian grappa is the worst for me. It makes kerosene taste good.

Recommendations? I'll try anything twice......
A good friend is Greek, her name being Demetra and her mom's name being Athena. She told me the reason the wine tastes like turpentine is that whenever they were invaded the conquerors would steal their wine. The locals started storing it in pine barrels to flavor it and prevent the theft. Good story, bad wine.......

In the Islands we call it "Garbage Can Punch" because it would be frequently mixed in a garden hose washed garbage can with 2 or 3 liners in it and contained any alcohol we could scrounge, fruit juices, fruit cocktail and anything we could pick from the trees in the neighborhood.
