Question 1920 Slag Glass Lamp??

MIL has this lamp............from what I have been told, it a 1920's slag glass lamp. Don't know who made it, so its kinda hard to find out/figure a value?

Any guess from this well educated bunch??

Sorry it'ds not a Smith.

It does look like it was manufactured in the 20s, and based on the popular designs of the era. Are there any makers marks or signatures? These are normally located in a discreet location, maybe on the band on the top. It looks like its been rewired and updated.

At the antique shows we go to, they say the rewiring doesn't have any negative effect on value. As long as its well done, its just not a factor.

The problem with taking it to an antique shop to get a value estimate is the owner often will want to steal it from you.

The lamp is a slag light or lamp and that is a good term to use to find comparable types for value. You can also look for swag lighting if it is hung offset on a chain.

It appears to be in the art nouveau style.
I would suggest going over it with a magnifier looking for a makers name.
If it is made by Williamson it could be worth major dollars.

There is also slumped glass shades. Basically the glass is cut and placed over a form, it is then heated in a kiln until the glass slumps to the desired shape. When i get this type of shade repaired that is the term used for making the curved glass.

You may take a look at a few lamps on ebay, possibly could be a Miller, design is similar.
