Yep bought it new. Tried Hoppes and a dental pick, its still there. I tried a brass brush and rem oil before only to get the brass of the brush on the finish. Once the excess brass is removed the original mark it still there. I'm beginning to suspect that it is a defect in the finish on the site, and I didn't notice it when I bought it. I'm sure Smith & Wesson will fix it for free, but I'm in no rush to send it out since its my everyday carry, and I would have to replace it with something else. The mark doesn't really bother me it gives it character. My only worry is if it were to because a problem area and start to rust.
