Default Picked up my new 686 + last night

Well I waited for over a year and now I have it. Brand new 686-6 "+", 4" barrel. Man what a beautiful gun, fits my hand like a glove and perfect balance. I can't wait to take her out to the range. Last night I cleaned it up real nice. Everything about the gun is perfect, nothing wrong that I could see. Barrel is canted maybe 1/2 mm to the right, but I'm not going to get crazy about that.

So I don't know if y'all have ever used Bud's Gun Shop, but they were fantastic. Great prices, no sales tax and it shipped in 2 days once they received my payment. I just couldn't be happier, I'll post pics in a couple of days.

Good job. I bought a used one like yours earlier this year and it is one of my favorite shooters.

Congrats. The 4" 686 is nice and the 7th round just adds to it. Looking forward to pics.

Gun pics are weird.

We all know what the gun looks like but we still want to see it.

Get 'em up soon.

Congrats on a superb gun.

Hey you got lucky. I like Buds but I have bought three guns from them this year and every one of them took ten days to reach me. As for the 686+ I ordered one from Buds last month and just love the thing.

Yeah, I was impressed with the service at Bud's. I'm in TX, and they're in KY, so I don't know if that made a difference or not.

I got it home and cleaned it up, now its just begging to be shot. Might have to wait until next weekend to break her in.

I'll post pics in a couple of days. I could spend hours just looking at it, what a beautiful gun.

Have a great weekend,
Ryan Z.

Also got mine from Bud's 3 weeks ago. Gun arrived in 4 days, perfect condition & a price I couldn't touch. I tried to buy mine locally to support the local business men but not one of guns shops could get one in 4 months so Bud's it was. Got about 500 rounds thru her & it's one sweet gun. Good luck & I'm sure your gonna love it.

Jebo125, Welcome to the forum!

That is a fine looking revolver you picked up there. It looks to have its original stocks and should be a fine shooter!

If I read the table in the SCSW correctly, your revolver was produced in January 1988. The "M" indicates the factory installed an upgraded hammer nose (firing pin) and bushing. This was done to correct a problem some early 586s and 686s experienced with primer flow.

Enjoy!

Congrats on the 686p. I feel it should be ranked as one of the finest handguns ever made. I am not an exceptional shooter unless I am behind my 686p "Super Tuned", then anything within about 75 yards will be bulls eyed!

Just came back from the range & gave her a bath. I like it more every time I shoot it. The 4" has such nice balance. Let us know your thoughts after you get it to the range.

Thanks for your welcome and response. I bought dinner for a table of 6 Coasties, the other night, here in Williamsburg VA. Just telling them thanks for their services.

I bought the same revolver about 5 years ago. It is my first and only revolver and it is a joy to shoot. I just ordered a companion to this revolver, a Model 638. Bud's Gun Shop has great service. I've gotten all my orders in a few days and hope that this will be the same case with the Model 638.
