Hello All:
I signed up to the forum to see if I could find an answer to a question I had about my new 345NG. It will only fire if I use moon clips with it (I have tried four or five types of ammo). After registering and signing on, I quickly found several informative answers in several threads that have pointed me in the right direction to solve the issue. (there seems to be a new style firing pin issue possibly causing the problem; thank you for the thread).
I look forward to reading your posts. I have only started purchasing guns in the last couple of years but have quickly found that it can be an interesting hobby, if not an obsession. I have acquired well over 100 different rifles, shotguns, and pistols in this time and enjoy shooting when I can. I have mainly purchased models from OEMs that are well recognized and have a good track record. Although I have a few guns that match, I usually buy one that catches my eye, is unique, or just plain feels good in my hand.
Only recently have I begun to purchase a few items that would (hopefully) be considered a good investment should I ever decide to sell any of the guns.
I only have a few Smith & Wesson guns, but love the way they shoot and have been happy with the service I have gotten from Smith & Wesson when it was needed.
Model 610 10mm
Model 629-6 .44 Magnum Mountain Gun
Model 629-1 .44 Magnum
Model 460 (Performance Center Model)
Model 29 Nickel Plated, Performance Center, with the small diameter barrel.
Model 438 .38 Special
Model 345NG .45 APC (mentioned earlier)
Model 1006 10mm semi-automatic
For now I look forward to reading the threads and posts and to try become a more informed owner.
I have an 1871 double barrelled 10 gauge shotgun that was my great grandfathers that I hope to find a qualified antique gunsmith to help me get into good firing condition. One of the hammers and firing pin mechanisms has been bent slightly. I just would like to have it in proper working order to pass down to one of my children.
Anyhow, thank you for the Forum and answers I have already found.
