Hello from Orlando
New member here in Orlando.
While cleaning out my fathers "junk drawer" I came acorss a S&W 15-3 serial number 15K2**
I was thinking that it should have more than 3 didgits after the 15K but I have not been able to find out much about it.
Could someone look at their S&W bible and let me know when it was born?
It is no beauty qeen, but seems to be solid and functions as it should, I did notice that the numbers on the cylinder pivot are different (29913) also has the number 26 inside of a circle on the pivot. So I am thinking that the cylinder may have been replaced at some point.
Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Welcome from TN! If you could ask your question in the appropriate forum, preferably with some pics, I'm sure someone could give you the answers. The 15K followed by three digits is kinda strange. At least from what I see in the book. The 15-3 came out in '67, and in '68 the diamond around the stock screw was eliminated. If yours doesn't have diamond stocks, it would narrow it down to 1968-1977, when the dash 4 came out. The other numbers you mention are probably inspection numbers, etc.
