Default I'm committed, I was only using you before.

I have logged on to S&W before to read comments about various guns, but today I joined. I own 3 S&Ws, a 686 stainless that sports a Crimson Trace lasergrips, a 422 and a recently added 22a-1. I have not had a chance to take the 22a out yet, but my early thoughts are that the components used in it's construction are a reflection on it's budget price. The slide release and the safety lever are both made of stamped steel and have rough edges. The rubber grips don't quite align, and the magazine does not smoothly slide in and out of the handle. At this point I am not disappointed, but do prefer the feel and visual details of my Ruger Mark II, Browning Buckmark and even my S&W 422.

The essential components appear to fit well, and the action is smooth and without excessive play. I will have to post again when I get it out to the range. I have to take all four guns out and do a side by side comp. Or I could just plagiarize this month issues of Handgun magazine
