Hi,
I've been shooting for about 23 years now. Mostly rimfire with some bird hunting and deer hunting thrown in the mix.
My 1982 Ruger MKI and my 2007 MKIII are by far the greatest inventions ever. I can throw lead downrange all day and not break the bank. And I can hit whatever I want, within 30 yards or so.
My father was a LEO for 25 years in Western MA so he started me on centerfire when I was about 15. I started timing him before qualification events so he could make sure he was ready and he eventually taught me to use his duty weapon (a Glock 22).
After I left home for college I was relegated to the rimfire budget for a few years. When my daughter was born about 5 years ago I decided I needed something other than my .20g shotgun and a few .22LRs around.
I took a concealed carry class and got my permit and picked up a Taurus PT111. Relatively compact. Pretty reliable and accurate after the second trip back to the factory.
I never could get used to pulling the trigger through two time zones so a few weeks back I sold it and started sleeping with my .41mag old model Blackhawk by my bed.
I did a bunch of research, tried out a few compact 9mm's and when I picked up a full size M&P9 I knew it was the one. So I had my LGS order over a M&P9c and started lurking here. I went over Friday to pick it up, along with a Galco King Tuck. Took it out for a little while Saturday morning and now I'm here. And trying to talk SWMBO in to letting me get a full size as well
