Hi from the Great Plains state of KS
Hi guys,
I found this forum whilst I was looking for cleaning and maintenance info for the S&W M&P semi-auto .22 LR that I've been practicing with at my local shooting range for the past year or so. My hubby Mike has been very helpful with cleaning my wep so far, but I feel I'm missing something. Anybody who shoots .22 LR regularly knows that no matter how "clean" and expensive your rounds are, .22 LR ammo is "dirty." When I use my Baby Uplula to reload nowadays, I hear squeaking springs in my mags and my Baby speed-loader isn't as smooth as she was when she was new.
About me: I'm currently pursuing my CCH license, have qualified with the Q target with a qualified instructor, filed paperwork and am just waiting on clearance from my local Sheriff's Department. I consider myself to be a hobby shooter, until I have to make that big decision to defend myself. I shoot my S&W M&P .22 and my Sig-Sauer p-238 .380 Lady handguns at least once a month. I shoot my Mossberg 20-gauge shotgun at clays when I can.
I could use a very simple tutorial on "how to clean S&W M&P magazines", using small words and very defined terms, so that I can understand them. If you say "use a solvent", please tell me what solvent, process, and tools you use. It'd be a great help to me.
Regards,
CJ

Thanks for the warm welcome VPNAVY.
My father served in WWII in the Big Red One division, suffering shrapnel wounds from D-Day he carried in his left thigh until the day he died, he also served in Korea as an Air Force Police Sergeant. He talked me out of joining the Air Force at 18, said I'd hate the drill. My grandfather served in WWI.
I should have ignored my father's advice and served my country. But I honored my father too much and valued his opinion.
I'm too old to try it now. Had I had the chance to do it again, I'd enlist in the zoomers. :-)
Regards,
CJ

Welcome from Wisconsin, CJ! I'm not familiar with the M&P22 mags so I hesitate giving you any advise. I won't presume that it's the same as an M&P40 or 40C. You might get more exposure to your question under the sub forum "S&W - Smithing" if nobody responds in the Introduction form.

I can't help you with the cleaning issue, but I'm sure someone will offer the advise you seek.
The folks on this forum are nicer and more generous with their time and know-how than you can imagine.
Welcome from the "Granite State."

*sighs* Sorry.
I suffer from "cranky old lady" syndrome. I get frustrated some times.
I'll just lurk a bit and do some reading. And.. clean up my BS posts.
My sincere apologies, guys.
