Welcome from Alaska. Check to see if the Catalogue of Smith & Wessons has been translated into your language. It will answer just about any question you might have about your pistols. I don't have my copy with me, but others will be around shortly who will look up the "ball park" dates for you.

Your English is great. Not to worry. Your 27-2 is most likely a mid-70s gun, but the only way to know is a factory letter. Dates in the references can sometimes be misleading. Welcome to the S&W Forum.

Hello Ippolito,

Welcome to the forum. Here are the approximate shipping dates for your Smith & Wesson handguns.

36 Chief Special - 1976-1977
27-2 - 1975-1976
52-2 - 1978-1979
17-2 - 1967
I am sorry that I cannot give you the actual date of shipping, only a letter from Smith & Wesson can do that.

Again, welcome. Nice collection of Smiths and your English is just fine.

If you are very serious about documenting your new puppies - you can Request Factory Letter's which will research the date of manufacture, first recorded shipment destination, etc.

Welcome from Texas IPPPOLITO. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Always grand to have a new member of the S&W family join in from across the Eastern pond.

Big fan of the wines from your country.
