Hello from Hawaii
Howzit everyone!
I just picked up a used 15-22. It is my first .22 firearm. I already have a Noveske AR and an Arsenal AK variant in 7.62. I also have a Glock 34.
Our range here has a metal silhouette target section where they only allow pistols and .22 rifles. I like the idea of sometimes not having to carry my target frame with it's associated supplies and my spotting scope.
Now I can just show up with my 15-22, brass catcher, and a small range bag.
I can tell I am going to be on this forum quite a bit trying to learn all I can about this great gun. Someone has already helped me with some questions I had.
Take care everybody. It is great to be here.

And a warm welcome from “wild and wonderful “ West Virginia at least that’s what they tell us. Have fun with your 15-22.

Thank you. i didn't realize that "wild and wonderful" was your state slogan. i googled that phrase and came across a movie trailer for "The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia". That looks like a crazy movie. At first, I thought that was what you were referring to. lol.
Well, in any case, Aloha from the Aloha State!
thanks mp22

Welcome from Colorado.
I also have a Arsenal AK. The Milled receivers are a nice touch.

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone.
IFFV, I only have the stamped receiver, but I love that rifle. I am sure the rigidity of the milled receiver must help with accuracy.
It is my first AK. Man, these things get hot fast!
vpnavy, I was just in the Philly area a couple weeks ago. I went there for lumbar spinal surgery. Great surgical center. I got to go to the "Largest Shopping Mall on the East Coast."
Martimus, I was supposed to get my surgery in Arizona, but insurance coverage wasn't as good there. I did get to stop over at your airport on the way home, though.
Hope everyone on the east coast was safe during Sandy.

And the movie wrong turn was filmed in Canada not WV. But I know some people like that in the western part of the state. I also see you have some crazy gun laws for your state, 10 round no full auto, waiting period, can not lennd for more then 15 days, etc, etc.
Do they have pig hunting there?

Our laws are not as bad as some places, but they are semi-strict. No full auto. No short barreled rifles. Basically no concealed or open carry.
The 10 round limit is for pistols. We are not allowed to have assault pistols. There is no round limit for rifles.
That is where the law gets really gray for guns like the UZI, AK and AR. Since there are pistol variants for those. The gun shops here openly sell 20, 30 and 40 round magazines. You can use them at the city and county range. So basically if it is against the law, i have never heard of it being enforced.
Pistol registration is a pain with the 2 week waiting period each time you buy a handgun, but registering a rifle is easy. Basically you wait two weeks for a permit to acquire that is good for a year. Then you can buy as many long guns as you want with no wait period.
We do have goat, deer, and pig hunting here.
old texmex.... aloha mai means "my great love to you"... thanks. love you too, i guess. LOL. Honestly, almost no one here speaks Hawaiian. I had to google what that meant.
