Default Going Full Circle

When I first started shooting not so many years ago my first handgun purchase was a new L-Frame revolver chambered in .357 Magnum. That revolver was my only handgun during my first year of practice. I found a group of guys that shot USPSA and honed my skills with that handgun shooting countless cylinders full of .357 Magnum. After so much use the revolver developed some end shake and went out of time. My only regret was selling the pistol after having it repaired.

In the meantime I experimented with many modern autoloaders and developed an affinity for the M1911, but none of them excited me like my first Smith & Wesson revolver. Now I'm interested in collecting Smith & Wesson revolvers and have begun reading several books on the subject. Several days ago I purchased a '73 Model 19-3 in excellent condition with the matching box, papers, and tools. Of course, now that I'm wiser I'll be gently shooting the Model 19 with .38 Special. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can here and having some fun doing it.

Welcome from Texas Nathan King. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

I carried a 586 for several years and foolishly sold it when we transitioned to self loading pistols.

Nice model 19, that is what I started with back in 1979.
