Hey from Tucson
Hi all, been lurking for a while and decided to join.
I bought an M&P Shield 9mm a while ago and I'm loving it, my first S&W. Been wanting a .357 revolver for a while and though it will probably be some time before I get on, I figured I'd join up and start learning about S&W's. I've shot my friend's 6-inch 686 and liked it a lot.

Welcome from a newbie in Illinois. Just last week I sold/shipped my Colt Lawman Mark III snub to an FFL dealer in Rio Rico. Super nice guy if you need an FFL close by.

Hey!
Next time you are at the Pima Pistol Club range, check out the bulletin board. There are often bargains there. Also, check out the shooters at the blue range and ask questions. There are often some revolver shooters there who can help with local sources and are quick to offer you a chance to shoot their toys.
Once you are comfortable with the technology, check out Murphy's. They usually have lots of older revolvers. Dangerous numbers in fact, often at reasonable prices.
Danger, Will Robinson!

I've never shot at Pima, usually shoot indoors at Marksman (Prince) though I have shot at the public range on Houghton.
Might have to go over and check it out.
Once in a while when I'm in the neighborhood I wander into Murphy's and look around, last time I was looking for a j-frame but I left with a Ruger LCR (sorry S&W forum!).
I usually look at the Winchester 94's, a gun I have no real need for but they're just so cool. I haven't played with the S&W revolvers yet, now I'm tempted

Years ago, my wife got her CCW training at Marksman. Good people in her opinion.
Pima Pistol Club might be a bit of hike for you. We live about 10 miles away. In addition to being close, the costs are attractive and shooting outdoors is more fun, in my opinion, than a noisy indoor range. YMMV, especially this time of year when daytime temperatures are high.
I usually shoot my Garand each week early on Tuesday morning with a few other "old guys".
Without a membership, the "day shooter" cost is $10/person for the entire day. If you like it, you can sign up at the end of the day and have the day shooter fee applied to your membership.
Pima Pistol Club - Membership
"Annual Membership
All memberships include spouse and member-supervised children under 18.
NRA member - $100
Non-NRA member - $140
Military/law enforcement, NRA member - $85
Military/law enforcement, non-NRA member - $125
NRA membership purchased at PPC - $25"
With summer temperatures, we have shorter hours. Pima Pistol Club - Home
"Summer hours are now in effect:
7:30 am - 2:30 pm Monday thru Friday
7:30 am - 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday
During bad weather check with the range office for closures.
Pima Pistol is an NRA member club. Our facilities have been supported by grants from the NRA and from the Arizona Game and Fish Department."

Thanks for the information, I've been wanting to get over there and check it out but might wait for cooler weather.
Marksman has some evening hours so I usually hook up with a shooting buddy of mine and hit the range after work once in a while.
Thanks for the warm greetings everyone!
