Hello from PA
I have a question for you. How do I tell is the porting on my Model 629 was done at the factory or after market? Purchased it used 18 years ago for $425. Only has 44 Magnum on barrel and 629-3 on frame by the frame. BHE 2013 on the frame also. The porting has 3 diagonal ports on each side of he barrel. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome aboard from the Lehigh Valley of PA! I believe most of the "ported" 629's were a single port on top of the barrel infront of the sight.
