Greetings from Pa, former S&w owner back in the club
I have always wanted the 29 or 629 but was always put off by the price tag in the gun shops. A few years back I bought a 686 with 6 inch barrel from a buddy for a decent price thinking it would quell the urge but quickly lost interest.
Sold it to get a Glock 26 as privately owned duty carry for work, but the desire for a big revolver never went away. Finally ran across this baby in a no reserve auction on gunbroker for 680 OTD including transfer fee and shipping. First time I saw one online that was a meaningful discount to new after you factor in all the extras. They're a little over 800 plus tax everywhere around here so this is a nearly 200 dollar discount when you include sales tax.
629-6 manufactured in 2014, only one microscopic scratch on the barrel you can't see unless you eyeball the gun in good light from about an inch away. Otherwise looks good and passes all function tests.
Stalked it on USPS website waiting for it to get to my local gun store. I was dancing back and fourth in anticipation like a kid waiting for the background check to clear so the owner would finally let me get my hands on it. It's another bucket list item finally crossed off the list after waiting years too long. Can't wait to shoot it, but for now till I get time to hit the range I can only crack the safe occasionally and look at it sitting there between the SIG 229 and Glock 26.
