New member from Florida
New to this forum, but not to S&W. My Mom spent her career there in the Service Dept. and I worked there part time as a senior in high school, and then later for a few years in Barrels, Screw Dept. and finally Frames. The reason I joined is because I picked up a Model 53 Thursday. Wanted one since I was a kid, but never pursued it, but while I was at a local gunshop picking up a SIG that I bought through gunbroker, I saw this old Smith and went home with it as well. I have done a little reading about its operation and am starting to look for spare parts, just in case. Hope to benefit from your knowledge.
I am not familiar with the operation of this forum, so forgive me if I mess up.

It was years ago. A little dangerous back then, but I am sure safety has improved. The product flow was a thing of beauty though.

I will put something together about my experience working at S&W, as a couple folks have asked about it. It may be a fairly long story, so I will start another thread to cover it. In a nutshell though, I learned a lot about manufacturing and quality was important.
