I purchased a Shield 9 M2.0, picked it up yesterday & tried it out today. I was very impressed. I fired over 150 rounds, mostly WWB 115gr, with some Perfecta 115gr, Winchester NATO 124gr, Speer Gold Dot +P's 124gr, Federal HST 147gr, and a few Critical Defense 115 gr.

The Shield didn't even think about hiccuping, and the trigger was as good as I was led to expect. My Shield came with the integrated Crimson Trace laser. I never had one before I can see how it will be useful. It certainly makes it obvious when you jerk the trigger! Once I got the laser zeroed in, had a few mags through and got my grip and trigger pull settled, the groups shrank dramatically.

This is my first Smith & Wesson. Up till now my 9mm carry rotation has consisted of a Glock 26 Gen4 with a Kahr CM9 for when I needed something lighter. I have been carrying both with 124gr +P Gold Dots, but recently discovered how much better control I have with standard pressure 147 HST"s out of the Glock. Not so much of a difference with the Kahr, it's jumpy as hell with either one.

The Shield is intended to largely replace the Kahr for carry, in order to avoid the huge difference in trigger action between the Kahr and the Glock. I tried both my preferred defensive loads, and was slightly more accurate with the 147 gr HST's. We'll see if I end up loading with those, or using the +P Gold Dots, maybe with the HST's in the backup mag.
