Default I swore I did one of these or geting old...

I joined a while back when I got my 1911Sc two tone and I guess I didn't make one of these. I recently came back in search for magazines with my new purchase recently. I now have a 669 with TBY serial #. I was a fan of the 6906, 4505 and the 5906 TSW. I accidentally stumbled across this and now here we are. Not a new gun owner, just collect and or sold off a few. I came back also to ask a question.

669 hammer question (Video inside)

I have/had other guns but signature length prevents me.

*P938 SAS*

*Gen 3 G17*

*PF940 V1.5*

*PT111 G2*

*870 Express*

Welcome !

I have a couple of 469 and 6906's. I've never seen that hammer behavior.

Only thing I can think of is there's an issue with how the strut and the main spring interface. A DA revolver with a loose strain screw behaves the same way.
Maybe something is going on with the center grip piece, cap, spring. I'll take one apart later and see if I can create the issue.

Thanks. I got a warranty with it from the *new* Gander and was wondering if it was a simple fix or just take it back. The gun looked like it was un fired till I came along. Barrel had 0 wear marks until the 1st few shots taken. After 4 mags of 10 rounds and lube it went away and was flawless up till now. Once it was working fine I went all 12 rounds.

Wow I'm gonna go back to the smaller image thumbnails again. This reply situation is crazy.

Does the 669 pass the recall test?

With the hammer at half cock, the decocker should drop the hammer. If the decocker doesn't move at the half cock notch and the hammer doesn't fall, it qualifies for the recall, although I don't know if S&W is still doing it.

My 669 (TAFxxxx) does, my 469's (Axxxxxx) don't. But they all shoot fine.
