New Member - Thanks for having me...
The social isolation brought on by the corona virus also brought on the time to follow-up on things I've wanted to do for a good while.
I have long had a continuing interest in the S&W .38 Special Victory Model. My relationship with that kind of revolver goes back to when I was a Naval Aviator and was issued a Victory Model and six rounds of tracer ammunition. Never used, I'm glad to say. Next I was issued a two inch barrel Victory Model in Vietnam, being classified as on the N2 Staff. I got that turned-in pretty quick in exchange for a .45 1911A1, which I carried the rest of the time. Never got to use that either. My last tour was the Naval Investigative Service Office in New York. I was required to qualify with a four inch victory model
After retirement from the U.S. Navy, I became a Georgia Peace Officer (street cop) and went to work for a small town PD. I really learned basic marksmanship during that experience. Never had to carry one thereafter until retirement.
After retirement I went to work as a street cop for a small town and had to borrow a revolver to carry on duty. Finally ended up using a nickel plated victory model with a noticeably bent front sight. Thanks to my basic marksmanship training in the Navy, I Qualified and went to work.
Some eight or nine years later I had moved to a much larger 800+ personnel suburban department and became Firearms Training Supervisor in the Training Division. We had several nickle plated victory models on hand for use by (usually) female officers with small hands. I changed that before too long and eventually the department changed over to 686s then Model 659s. I enjoyed keeping the Victory Models up to good condition and was sent to the Smith and Wesson Police Armorer's course in Springfield (Warren) MA. Really enjoyed that and purchased the Model 66 I had assembled and fitted.
During and since that time I have gone through retirement again and several accumulation phases - .45 Govt Models, Colt SAA and clones, U.S. Military weapons, as well as Kabars, Randalls, and All Metal Pocket Utility Knives.....
Now I have the enforced time to devote to my long lingering interest in S&W .38 Victory Models. Thanks to the forum I have learned many things and look forward to learning more as I go along. Pictures of the one Victory Model I possess are posted in the album. I have applied for membership in S&WHF, SWCA, became a bronze member of the forum, long time NRA.
Thanks again for having me and I look forward to learning.

New member from Alabama here. Thanks for letting me into the circle folks. Just acquired my first AR 15, M&P sport II in 5.56. I reload so any recipes for the 1 in 9 twist 16” barrel, sending 55 & 60 grainers would be helpful.
