S&W Chief’s Special info needed.
I have a 38 Chiefs Special Model 60 wooden stock. Serial #AEE9416 . What can you tell me about when it was manufactured. I don’t find anything about serial numbers like this.

Welcome from Western Massachusetts.
If I remember correctly, the model 60 was introduced in 1965, and the tri alpha serial numbers started in the early 80's. Someone will be along and correct me if I am wrong.

Per the SCSW 3rd Edition:
January 1984 - ADT prefix
November 1984 - AEV-AFJ prefixes
So almost certainly the second half of 1984
