S&W holster compatibility
I’m a fairly new member here and this is my first post.
I recently acquired a late Model 5906 with Novak sites and want to get a used leather holster for it. I own a couple S&W type 22 holsters for my Model 10-5 and Model 36-1.
I was wondering if anybody knows if a size 39 S&W holster will fit my new acquisition.

John sometimes when you do searches type "5900 series", that will include holsters that fit 5906,5903,5946 etc.

Thanks for the welcomes.
I have looked at a 1978 S&W holster sizing chart and it says a size 39 fits Model 39. Occasionally you see these size 39 holsters show up for sale. With ambidextrous decocker/safety and sight variations on the Model 5906 I was wondering if the size 39 can accommodate those differences. It seems the single stack vs double stack difference isn’t a factor.

Welcome aboard from coastal North Carolina.
I have a Galco Fletch High Rise (OWB thumb break) that works well for both my 3904 square trigger guard and my 5906 round trigger guard models, so the holster you are considering may work for you.

Thanks URIT. I carried a Combat Commander in a Bianchi Shadow. I’ll likely not carry this one concealed and to a mid to low ride holster.
To the other replies, I check in from time to time, but from the beginning I was struck by the respect and sense of community everyone has. And oh yes, no shortage of humor.

About the only difference I see and it looks like a slight one between a M39 and 5906 are the trigger guards, 39 round and 5906 hooked. Hopefully someone who owns both pistols and the same holster will show up to comment.
