Glad to have found this forum.
I purchased my first S&W (Model 469) in 1985 while I was in the Army at Ft. Lewis, WA (A Co, 2/75), for conceal carry when "out and about". Still have it and it's been well cared for.
Recently I have returned to EDC with my CCW permit in Minnesota, purchasing:
1. Springfield Hellcat
2. Glock 43 w/ Tru-Glo sights and Pearce Grips +1 mags
3. S&W M&P 40 Shield M2.0 w/ ported barrel/slide and red dot.
I have been spending a LOT of time at the range (Bill's Gun Shop in Robbinsdale and in Circle Pines). While I like the Hellcat, I am not consistently accurate with it ... it really jumps, the sight radius is small, and I struggle to acquire a consistent sight picture with the "U-dot" sights. I'm sure it's me and I need more practice.
That said, I am pleased with my target groups using the Glock 43 or the M&P 40, the latter of which I am most consistent with; I'm sure the red dot really helps, as I am normally a target focused shooter with irons or dots.
