Cool Hello from the desert.
Hey there, I am a new member. I inherited a Model 19 .357 magnum from my father-in-law and thought I might enjoy learning about it and those who do the same. I am from SE Washington state and enjoy spending time shooting.
I do have a question, what would be the simplest way to find out about my revolver? Thank you for any assistance. I look forward to learning from this forum.

Find a certified F/A and invest in a few private lessons. A revolver is much easier to bring a new shooter up to speed on than say, a semi-auto. Once you are up to speed on the weapon, get some wadcutters and have fun. Be sure to ask about maintenance.

For more info on your S&W Model 19 from the members here, please post the number after the "-." I.e., Mod 19-2, 19-5, etc. Also the barrel length, blue or nickel, front sight type, etc. The serial number will help in tying down the approximate year of manufacture too.

For detailed info on all S&W revolvers, it's hard to beat the: "Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson." It's pretty much the gold standard for the good products of S&W. It should be at your library and if not, Amazon or Ebay will have a copy to sell.

At any rate, welcome aboard. I retired out of Fort Lewis and I still reside in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. I spent a lot of time over at the Yakima Firing Center over the years and I still hunt dove and pheasants over your way.
