New member/586 L Comp
Hello
New member here. I just received my 586 L Comp after waiting 2.5 weeks for back ground check. Really love the look and function of the gun.
Now to find ammo, I think looking a bulk sales is my best bet right now also there is a sports show coming to town next month. What do you think just order it or wait on the show?
Also spent a considerable amount of time looking for a good holster for it. Seems like that is a challenge also. At least one that is made specifically for that gun. Any suggestions on where to look.
Thanks

Nice
Congrats on the new revolver. The one gun show I went to last year had a bit of ammo, no 38 or 357 magnum, and everything overpriced.
My only success has been knowing the delivery days at Academy Sports and picking up a box or two of 38 special from time to time. Ask for 357 Magnum and you find none at all.
My best success has been through ammoseek, and purchase it fast before it's gone. You must pay attention to shipping cost, for it can drive the price up a lot.
I find 38 and even the elusive 357 Magnum.
Enjoy your search...have fun shooting that 586!

Welcome from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
38 Special is about all you're going to find anywhere near reasonable. You might try Norma Shooting. Nothing is inexpensive these days.

Welcome aboard from coastal North Carolina.
Don Hume has several holster options for your 586. They also have ammo pouches and speed loaders.
Enjoy your new 586!

Welcome.
I’ll second Ammoseek.com as a source of 38spl and 357 magnum ammo.

Took care of 38 special for target, 1000 rounds. 50 cent each. I move on to the 357 tomorrow.

Welcome from Texas! I've never had any luck buying ammo at the shows, everything is way overpriced. Enjoy your L frame!

Greetings from the Oregon Coast!
As far as ammo, I have no suggestions. I reload and haven't needed to buy ammo for quite a while.
But as for a holster, try Simply Rugged's website. They're extremely well-made, and you can get one for any handgun you have.

Look at the model PMK holster on Milt Sparks’ website. It works great for a gun that size, and will be a perfect fit. The wait is about four months, which is about how long it will take you to find ammo.
Also, welcome from North Texas!
