Greetings from the Smoky Mountains
My wife and I live in Sevierville, TN. She is a long arm quilter who is out at night. I am also out late at night. We are both taking CCW classes for personal protection. We haven't purchased our weapons yet as we are still trying out models. We've narrowed our search down to a LS60 (or a model 60 with third party wood grips) and a LS 642. Whatever we select, it will be a S&W revolver. If anyone has any input, suggestions or recommendations or if anyone has a gun for sale, I'm open to suggestions. There is a LS60 locally for $659 and a used model 60 for $450. Still have yet to find a smaller handgun locally.
I used a Navy issue 45 many moons ago and have just recently become interested in personal protection as a neighbor was assaulted in her home. Seems like there are more and more crazies out there just waiting to take advantage of folks as times get tougher.
I'm looking forward to learning and sharing with this community.

You have a good indoor range where you live. If
you don't know about it look it up in the phone
book. What ever weapon you chose to get I would
also get a used 22lr pistol like a Ruger MK-I MK-II MK-III
