Default Question on using Power Pistol in 9mm

Any suggested loads for this powder using cast lead 124g rn? Looking for 1000 - 1100 fps.
Also how does this powder compare to bullseye or 231 in terms of clean burning?

I've loaded a lot of 9mm with Power Pistol with 115 gr. FMJ bullets. For my 9mm lead bullets, I use Bullseye. Power Pistol is clean burning when loaded to recommended charges with the jacketed bullets. Bullseye is about as dirty a powder as any, but it is hard to beat in the accuracy and economy departments. Bullseye residue is pretty easy to clean from a gun, as well. Alliant doesn't show any loads with Power Pistol and lead bullets. There might be a reason for this, but I don't know. You might try contacting them.

I have only used Power Pistol in some experimental loads with 147 gr. jacketed bullets. I found that i preferred the recoil impulse using the faster burning powders such as Bullsye, WSF or N-330.

I used 5.4 grains of Power Pistol behind a Laser Cast 124 grain round nose, COL 1.115 with a medium to medium/heavy taper crimp. Good for around 1040-1055 fps but put out plenty of black lube smoke. This was a good accurate load but will not shoot it indoors again.

Thanks FlaSun, that is what I was thinking, around 5.5g or so, yes I do have a cronograph, anyone who seriously reloads needs one.
I have a few hundred of my hard casts but am planning on using Ranier plated, mostly because I got lazy and didn't lube mine yet!

5.5 sounds good, I've gotten a little conservative in my old age. Let us know how it goes as I've been wanting to get the Rainier for 9mm but can't find any not back ordered.

Using Power Pistol and 124 gr. cast bullets I can safely manage 1200 FPS in the 2" barrel of my 940. In my experience this is the best powder for strong 9mm loads. But if you're shooting them out of an auto with an unsupported chamber you'll have to lower your expectations a bit.
