Nope. You need the 32 S&W Long and / or the 32 Mag. dies.

BTW, give your friend a pat on the back for me. As a fellow 32 auto reloader, I understand what he goes through.

Thank you for your replies. I have 2 Rugers in 32 H&R Mag. A Single Six Bisley and an SP-101. I am waiting for the right deal to come along on a Model 16. I wouldn't load 32acp but the H&R Magnum is hard to come by and pricey. I have several hundered rounds of brass I just picked up and want to load the H&R down to a fun target load.

Yes. I use .32 ACP dies to also load ; 32 S&W Long, .32 H&R Magnum and .327 magnum. I have also backed out the sizing die to neck size .32-20.

The only one it didn't work on is the stubby little .32 S&W which is shorter than .32 ACP.

A friend uses RCBS 32acp dies to load 32S&W & 32S&W Long. Don't know about the Magnum though.

I use the 'seater' die from an old 32acp set to neck size 8mm Mauser and 8x56 Mannlicher Schoenaur. Another obscure use that can be filed away!

Default WITH A SET OF RCBS 32ACP STEEL DIES BOUGHT USED FOR FIVE BUCKS,

I loaded 32S&W LONG, 32H&R MAG, and 7.65/32ACP cartridges by the many thousands for a dozen on more 32 pistols. It is amazing what you can do when you learn to really adjust dies correctly and have an understanding of their internal dimensions in their entirety.
Now, I have a half dozen sets of 32l/hr/acp dies set up to cater to the many dimensional differences in the myriad of 32ACP/H&R/LONG brass.

The original 32ACP .309" expander plug will still work perfectly in all 32 cases for all styles of 32 bullets including wc/swc bullets.

You guys are absolutely correct. I spoke before I thought about it much.
A long time ago I added a set of RCBS dies in 32 S&W / 32 Mag for the roll crimp. I'd forgotten the reason why.

"Lee says:"
If you look closely at Lees site they list their .32 auto, .32 S&W long and .32 mag sizing dies with the exact same number. The other dies may vary but they can be made to work by adjusting them up to handle the longer cases.

By the time you buy a shell holder and roll crimp die to load .32 Mag correctly, what is the point in using part of the .32 ACP dies?
Might as well blow the whole $20 on the correct die set. Die sets are cheaper than buying each die individually, anyway.

I also load the French 7.65mm Long, as used in the Mles 1935A and 1935S pistols. Sometimes you have a problem with the shellholder as the 32 ACP shellholder is made for the semi-rimmed round while the 7.65L is rimless.

I agree with OKFC05. Dies are relatively cheap and it is much easier having a set of 'correct' dies. The style of crimping die especially. If you are only going to load a few hundred and they will last a good long time just get hold of a serviceable shell holder and have at it. BTW Lee dies come with a shell holder and 'caliber correct' crimping dies. Which are auto loader/ revolver specific. Or at least are supposed to be. ;-)

Before you run out and buy a roll crimp die make sure you check your .32 auto crimp die. Some of them will be able to make a roll crimp too, then all you'd need is a shell holder that should be a bit less than the $20 for a whole die set.

You might want to go to their website and browse around their crimp die part numbers. Especially the .45s.

The Lee .32 Auto seating die can be used to apply a roll crimp on .32 H&R mag or .327 just by backing the die out. All you really need is a different shellholder.
