Default Question for caster Re: RCBS 9mm mould

I have an RCBS 9mm-124-RN mould, upon casting with it the bullets come out looking for all the world like they require a gas check, but the description of the mould doesn't mention it. The bottom bearing band, as cast measures .358/9 and the 'step' at the base measures .349. I bought this from Midway some time ago and have just cast with it for the first time. When I look it up on the Midway site it isn't even listed anymore.
Any help with this?

What is the exact mould number. We should be able to go on their website and find out what it is.

FWIW, I have cast bullets before that had the gas check step in them and shot them without gas checks. Granted, they were shot in target 38spl rounds not the 9mm.

If it were me, I'd load up a few and see how the performed.

Try this.
RCBS Bullet Casting
Scroll down the page and you will find it. I bought this mould a while ago and have not cast with it yet.

Azjohn, you where on the mark there, that is the exact mould and it does show it with gas check. All the better I reckon, an extra step but I'll give them a try. I have .32-20 mould and .44, .45 and a .35 Rem with gas checks so not that big a deal, just surprised me. I thought perhaps the mould had been ground wrong.
Thanks all for the input! Let me know if anyone would like a few hundred of the above to try out.

Try a few without the gas check, you might not need them.

The mold in question is gas checked. I believe RCBS discontinued this mold some years back. I have two I purchased many years ago. I had one mold modified by removing the gas check shank, so the CB now has a very wide rear drive band. While the modification added a bit of weight to the CB, both versions are accurate and feed like poop through a goose.

I have two of those molds and like the bullet in a 9MM carbine.
