Has anybody tried one of these? Seems like it should work well...

Too time consuming IMO
I have an ultrasound cleaner which I mostly use for guns and small parts. I have used it for cases.
But:
For best results you must carefully stack them into the basket primer side down, very time consuming.
The cases are cleaned but not polished if that matters to you.
The primer pocket fouling is softened up but needs to be blown out with compressed aid before drying.
My conclusion; It may be worth doing for bench rest rifle cases, but not for pistol cases.
I throw pistol cases in the washing machine with simple green soap and dry them on an old screen outside. The washing removes the bullet lube residue and most of the powder fouling, occasionally I throw them into the tumbler to brighten them up after washing.

What do you use for cleaning? I see that primersp uses salt & water.
I have tried the vinegar with decent results, but not great results.
Tried Oxy-Clean, really bad to do FYI.
Tried 409, not good.
Tried regular water, not good.
Tried carwash soap, not good.
The vinegar does get most of the crud out of the primer pocks though.

I use a cleaner concentrate from Brownells. I'm home, so don't have the name in front of me. The ultrasonic cleaner is designed to clean guns, but I use it to clean cartridge cases too. I let the cartridge cases soak overnight, and then I turn on the heat and sonicate them.

Here is a link to a good article on ultrasonic cleaning. The author experimented with several solution formulas and reports on what worked best for him.

Wife+washing machine
Washing machine+wife+brass.
I have found that brass does not make much noise or leave a mess in the machine. I tried it once while she was shopping and found no problem-----------Note, we do not have a front loader. So I have been authorized to use it while she is around.
I thought I would take a flyer at the clothes drier with the brass in mesh bags, very, very, big noise, I council against it.

I use anL&R Quantrex ultrasonic cleaner that is designed for cleaning guns. The solution I use is the L&R Safety Ultrasonic Weapon Cleaning Solution. It "Quickly Removes Crud, Light Rust, Powder, and Carbon" from guns, and I have to say that it does the same for cartridge cases. I let some nickel plated cartridge cases sit it over a weekend, and it removed the nickel plating.
