Default RCBS Ammomaster progressive?

I downloaded the instruction manual to see what parts I'm missing...

I just picked this thing up from a friend in the club that gave it to me- it came from one of his friends that passed away. I don't believe that it's been used in years...at least light surface rust in places tells me that.

Anyone have one of these things? Seems that they are very well made, but might take a bit of getting used to since I'm accustomed to running a Hornady machine.

I do think I'll have the advantage to keeping one for pistol, and the other for rifle cartridges now...if I can figure it out.

Now, if I can get one dedicated for .410 brass hulls.

I wish I had one, they are the bee's knees. I was offered one for free, along with the .50BMG kit, but passed it up. I've been kicking myself ever since about that decision.

Good luck with your "new" press. These things get around for free for a reason. It is not one the the RCBS success stories like a Rock Chucker.

Dan, I've never heard anything negative about them, what kind of issues were you having? I've only known a few guys that had them and they all seemed to like them a lot.

I just looked at the shellplate chart, and it seems that all shellplates are interchangeable with all other RCBS progressive presses with exception of the 4x4.

I'm going to try to clean it up this weekend and see what I can do with it. However, the plastic powder drop tube is busted and it needs to be replaced...I may just throw my extra Hornady case activated drop on there.

Shell plate timing or lack there of, tipped primers, left hand doing too many tasks and a real pain to work on. I inherited mine and passed it on to a friend who likes to tinker with stuff. I will stay with my Dillon 550s as they are simple and so am I.

Thanks for the info Dan, I have a Piggyback II and know what you mean about the timing issue. Other than that I've never had a problem with it either.

The guy that wanted to give me one wanted me to load ammo for his three .50 BMG cal. rifles. Along with anything else I wanted, and the stuff was mine to keep. But I didn't have enough spare time then, not like I do now.
