I am toying with the idea of getting a Lee 90 grain tumble lube mold and casting some bullets for my pre model 30, 2 inch barrel. It is supposed to throw a .314 diameter bullet that is designed to be tumble lubed with their Alox lube. Has anybody used this bullet for their model 30? Is .314 diameter bullet okay as it drops from the mold or should it be sized? I see Lee also makes a .311 sizing die and was wondering if I should order one of those at the same time. Lee also makes a heavier semi-wad cutter and round nose bullet molds. If anyone has any experience with these I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts on them, as pertains to the model 30. These heavier bullets have the standard lube ring, but I am supposing they could also be tumble lubed.
I have cast some bullets for black powder revolvers but have no experience in casting bullets for cartridge revolvers. I will just be getting my feet wet with this little experiment so I do not have a lot of equipment on hand for casting. I do shoot quite a few cast bullets, but my local caster does not produce any 32 caliber bullets.
any input or advice based on your experiences will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom
