Unique in the Model 52???
I'm thinking about going to Unique in my model 52, I'll drive a 148 WC.
Do any of you guys use it in your 52's?
If so, how much are you using?
THANKS~!

I have never tried it or read about anyone else using it.
The M-52 can be fussy about it's ammo. It needs a good, sharp little jolt to cycle. I wonder if Unique may be too slow. There is probably good reason folks use Bullseye and -231, the really fast powders.

Never saw a reason to try anything other than Bullseye and W-231.

I shot 8 # of WW 452 Shotgun powder through mine without any trouble. Remington factory wad cutters tossed brass about 3-1/2 feet, my reloads went about 16" to the right on the way to the floor. Load was around 3 grains with a Lyman flush seated WC.

I've used Bullseye and 231 in the past. I'm out of Bullseye and almost out of 231, I thought I'd try Unique if there was some good history with it.
Looks like I'll go with the 231......
THANKS for the help~!

I've had good luck with 3.6grs of VV N340 . Burn charts show it as a slower powder . There's a fella on here that's posted he uses 3.2 of Universal Clays , so Unique might work . My gun likes 3.1 to 3.2 W 231 or the above N340 load . Both group well @ 50yds , so I'm happy .

With a 148 Gr. DEWC (hard-cast) I use 4.9 Gr. of Unique over a CCI 500 primer. VERY happy with the performance, although it is a bit dirty. Your results may vary.
Have fun and be safe.

Unique is a bit too slow for the mild 38 Special target loads. Bullseye, WST or W-231 would be better choices.
