Default Hornady 8th Edition Reloading Manual

Have been reading some reviews of this new version of the Hornady Manual lately and saw it offered at Midsouth so added it to my order.

It seems in the last few years I have been using quite a lot of Hornady bullets and my Hornady Manual is several versions old at this point. The reviews spoke of Hornady revisiting a lot of calibers in this edition and adding quite a few new calibers as well.

I have perused several calibers I load for and it would seem that indeed there has been a new look at things. It is over a thousand pages and that is a lot of information; they seem to have tried some of the newer powders on some of the classics and that is a nice addition.

Think this will be real helpful where I am using so many of their bullets should help to maybe take a new look at some of my loads.

It's of popular belief the best source for load data is from the bullet manufacturer of your chosen bullets. If you can afford to buy another manual more information is always better than less IMO.

The only thing I dislike about Hornady[unless they've changed things] is that they only sell by you buying both editions and most people won't use the ballistic info from the second book much if ever at all - IMO!

Hornady's ballistic info is now online. I have the 7th edition, and has no ballistic data, it just points you to the online info.

We think alike. Mine just arrived at my office today. I think I'm also getting a trigger pull gage and some nice grips too.

Johngalt is correct, Hornady’s 8th edition points anyone interested in ballistics to their website.

One thing nice about this new manual is Hornady gives a very detailed description of all their bullets and the recommended uses. Hornady has added a good number of new bullets and it is nice to have this information at hand.

I believe this manual will be a great addition to my collection and will prove useful immediately. Glad to hear that a number of you have this in your Christmas stocking, it will give you something to peruse in the Christmas afternoon with a cup of your favorite beverage.

Hornady loads things pretty mild but I bought the manual. I collect manuals so it was just another one to buy. I did note that on a quick check nothing was cut back of the rounds I have memorized and there is a hair more trail boss and 4756 data then I remember in 7 but I did not pull both to check.
