Default Densification of density?!

Last night I’ve started setting up a new turret reloading press. Arguably, the Rolls Royce of a reloading presses. Looking at beautifully crafted seven holes in the green turret, thinking…why don’t I mount my old and faithful Pacific Pro powder measure in one of those holes and still have room for three more sets of dies in three different rifle calibers? Well, slide bar auto primer explosion shield was in the way! Essentially, turret couldn’t be rotated with the powder measure in it without striking the shield. So I’ve emailed tech support at the factory last night and asked for advice. They must make some kind of a riser or universal powder charging die available…right? This morning I’ve a reply - “we do not make an adaptor to mount a powder measure on the press. We do not recommend mounting a powder measure on a turret press, because when you rotate the turret head the vibration will change the density of the powder in the powder reservoir which will affect the accuracy of the charges.” As always, your comments are greatly appreciated.
Jack.

I own Dillons, which have the powder measure mounted on the press, and I have installed a powder measure on a Lee turret press with a home-made mount.

What they say is absolutely true. I have to calibrate my powder measure with a scale while operating the press fully.
If I just operate the measure without cycling normally like I was loading, the powder measure throws light.

The term I prefer to use is the vibration of operation settles the powder into the cavity, putting more powder in the charge. It needs to be done the same way every time, especially when calibrating.

If you used a Lee Powder Drop die and Lee powder measure you would be able to use it on your Redding Turret press as you would be able to use the Lee riser.

OKFC05:
I fully agree with your statement. I, too, have Dillon press and empty out at least ten powder charges from a case before I put it on a scale to verify weight. But still, you’re not hesitant (given extra caution) about mounting a powder measure on your turret…why will they be? Lee, RCBS does it!

Carnage 7:
I was actually thinking about buying Hornady's LnL powder measure linkage because looks like it'll work with my Pacific-Pro.

Own a lee turret with the powder measure on the turret, loading handgun ammo the powder does settle slightly as you load, tapping on the powder measure before starting to settle the powder beforehand seems to help but not really much of a problem, may vary a couple of tenths after a 100rds. or so. Maybe a bigger issue if loading rifle ammo for high precision accuracy, but for practical handgun loading doesn't seem to be a problem. Also powder dependent. Some powders don't seem to settle at all.

Installing (2) powder baffles in the powder hopper would minimize the volume density change problem.

After reloading 100 rounds of 45ACP using T-7 turret press, Lee dies and Pacific Powder Measure dispensing 4.8 gr of W231- I’ve found out that vibration of revolving turret did not cause any powder variations...at all! RCBS 5-0-5 was used to verify it and every 10th round was checked for powder weight.

I thought you’d like to know.

Jack.
