H&G #501? I have an H&G #502 that is designed for the 45AutoRim. Nice bullets (boolits).

Creeker, you always take great pictures. Not only that, your bullets always seem to turn out good! ;)

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Marine [Skip] for the good words.

Nick B. is correct. These are from a MiHec brass mould which is the RCBS 45-270-SAA clone.

The boolits pictured are cast from 50/50 range lead/pure lead & sized .454. They test 7-8 BHN & weigh 293 grains.

How come yours aren't that shiny;)??

Skip,
You know I am just busting your whatever.:D

I think you got the penetration part solved. Now about accuracy and recoil? Do you use Ibuprofen after the range session?

My left hand is just heal up from the knife. That & very bad weather plus firewood orders have kept me from testing this boolit but I assure you a Bisley Blackhawk will handle this bullet at 1100-1200 fps with no pain to the shooter.

Got to ask why folks continue to use the term "boolits"? I know it comes from some other forum but they are still BULLETS.

Bullets=Jacketed projectiles
Boolits=Cast Lead projectiles

It's just jargon. Every group of people that hang out together, in person or online, create new words and terms to communicate more effectively. For example- you can post on this forum talking about P&R, Cokes, TT and TH, RR/WO, etc. and most folks understand what you're talking about. Now I see many of these terms show up on other boards and people understand what they mean. Boolits is no different. Just a word coined to differentiate between two types of bullets.

These are so shiny they are frosted! ;) Just one of those days that I wanted bullets (boolits) and settled for less than perfect. Funny thing about that though, they will still shoot to the right place and consistently! So....................:p

Rick's bullets look good enough to actually see here, so I'm taking the liberty to do a little repair!
