Default Looking for 30 carbine loads

We want to run an event at out club where we would shoot our 30 cal military carbines hanging steel critter targets that were origionally et up for black powder. (read: thik plate but not hard.) Shots will be between 30 and 100 yds and you would only have to ring a target to get credit. In preperation , I just purchased some short jacketed 100 gr , lead tipped.30 bullets that should work well for teh task. Now all I need is a good recipie for a 100 gr "jacketed" load that will reliably cycle the rifle , yet not be pushign the 2000 fps mark. Any experience /loads appreciated.

The "classic" load is H110/296. Of course there are others.
2400 is good if you want to download and stay below 2000fps and still cycle the rifle.

100 GR. SPR SP Hodgdon H110 .308" 1.625" 14.5 2075 28,200 CUP 15.5 2202 36,100 CUP

Thanks ODC, I should have mentioned that I've been loading my "everyday" carbine rounds with W296 and have been very happy with them. I was just looking to step the speed down a bit for this purpose and am not sure about reducing a 296 any lower than listed. I'm thinking another powder may be needed.

That's why I like 2400 for the carbine and for most of my magnum loads. The listed 2400 loads on the website are MAX and you can drop them 10%

It also does not require a Mag primer in 357, 44 Mag.

I no longer have my M1 Carbine, but I regularly used published loads with 2400 with good results. Unfortunately, I don't have any chronograph data handy.
How about the easy to make 130g LRN (#311410) for slower loads? Lyman Cast Bullet Hdbk #3 lists 10.5g to 12.0g at 1564fps to 1733 fps.

Too bad SinterFire doesn't make a frangible bullet for the .30 Carbine. I've shot the 155g 45 ACP at 12 inches from steel with no splashback or debris, fwiw.
