Back in the 70's I was shooting the carol cast bullets by the boxes. I had the usual leading in the barrel at the time.

Then i found out about the bearclaw cast bullets that are lubed with moly. I was experiencing less leading to almost none at all.

Now its 2011 and i'm looking for a moly coating that i can easily apply to my cast bullets. is anyone doing this application today? Bill

don't know of anyone coating their bullets with moly, but you can buy them already coated from a company in texas called precision bullets.. I haven't used them. but have heard they work real well with little or no leading. I use alox it seems to work well for me....

I seen the improvement inperson when i switched from the regular lubed cast bullets to the moly coated cast bullets and i had very little leading to none with the moly. Before i was running the jacketed bullets down the pipe between shooting the cast bullets to get most of the leading out. Now i just fire 6rds after i'm though shootin to keep the feel of the magnum power and to make sure the barrel is lead free. Bill

BTW; I'm thinking maybe we can up the load a little too if we have less leading with the moly coated bullets. I hate throwing good jacketed magnum charged bullets down range at the paper. I could also cut down on the throat wear too.

Does the Lyman spray on lube smoke much? Most of my shooting is at an indoor range, and alox smokes quite a bit. I've been using the Lyman orange lube and it smokes very little. Thanks, Dean
